It had been a while since I'd encountered the "stepsister" trope, but Mei-chan, voiced by Yuuko Natsuyoshi, was just wonderful, so wonderful... There's a sense of distance where you feel that even a stepsister is still family. And yet Mei-chan appeals to her brother as a girl in her own right. The way the work expresses these two sides through vocal volume and distance really made my heart race as I listened. I think this is a strange, unique feeling you can't get from a friend or a lover. The distance between them gradually closes through ear cleaning. Please do watch it through to the end. Recommended for anyone who just wants to keep taking in the concept of a "stepsister" and the character voiced by Yuuko Natsuyoshi.
It's half a step away from blood relations that aren't actually connected by blood. Just think of the title's "a bit cheeky" and "bad at being spoiled" as decorations. She never hides her affection the whole time, so why...? And of course, I do my share of stupid teasing moves too (though it's basically negligible). Well, once you accept it, tonight becomes the fun course, so I guess it can't be helped? Also, I recognize this way of closing the distance. It's the same thing they do with "sensei" in Academy City! Isn't the humidity in this room kind of high? Ma~o......
First, I love how there's this indescribable sense of distance with the stepsister, and how her prickly side comes out. Even though in her heart she wants to say things a certain way, her bad-at-being-spoiled side shows and she ends up acting a bit tough, but then little by little she conveys her true feelings—I really love that kind of situation (*´ω`*) She's my favorite type of voice actress, and it also felt like a first-time kind of experience for me, so I decided to write this review.
