Perfect for listeners who love close-contact ASMR care like ear cleaning and shampooing, paired with a cool-looking heroine who turns out to be sweetly clingy underneath.
You, a lost traveler chosen by the gods, are welcomed into a secluded mountain hot-spring inn. There you meet Mashiro, a composed and seemingly aloof rabbit goddess who is secretly starved for affection. She showers you with tender ear cleaning, shampoo washing, and a gentle lap-pillow co-sleeping session, wrapping you in warmth and quiet devotion.
The setting is a desolate hot spring town. Having lost your way, you pass beneath a torii gate standing alone and forgotten in the mountains, and suddenly an old inn appears before you. It is an inn where gods who have lost their power and can no longer remain in their own shrines come to gather. You are the one chosen by the higher gods. By healing and saving you, the gods can regain their power and return to their shrines. Thus begins the hospitality of the eight million gods.
A rabbit god. Serious and polite, appearing cool at first glance. But she does have proper emotions—joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness—she's just not good at showing them. In truth, she has a bit of an airheaded, clumsy side (for example, she genuinely believes the Inari god when he tells her that the "boing-boing pose" is a sign of welcome). She doesn't look it, but she's a lonely type who secretly likes to be spoiled. She has a habit of staring intently at people or things she likes. When embarrassed, she adds "...pyon" to the end of her sentences. She's self-conscious about rabbits being minor gods compared to others. She's an albino, pure white all over, with red eyes. She's afraid of sharks. Her name comes from the White Rabbit of Inaba.

This was an absolutely wonderful work. At first, I wondered about being called "anata-sama" — it felt a bit stiff, or maybe overly formal? But as I kept listening, I got pretty used to it, and eventually started thinking it was actually really nice. The way she greets you with little hops, or explains that she learned about the bunny girl costume from the Inari god — it felt so like Mitama-chan, and it was really heartwarming. I've listened to a lot of other characters based on rabbits, but I think this work respects and makes use of the rabbit motif the best. Beyond just appearance and personality, there are so many little touches that evoke rabbits — describing a lap pillow as freshly-pounded mochi, or comparing a bonten (ear-cleaning puff) to a rabbit's tail. These were fresh expressions I'd never heard before. I'm not against characters adding "pyon" to the end of their sentences in general, but this work does it completely differently — Mashiro-chan saying "pyon..." in embarrassment when she's trying to be affectionate is just too cute, it's seriously dangerous! She's basically very polite and tries hard to properly take care of you, but the gap when she occasionally gets clingy got me so many times!! Especially during the sleeping-together scene, sweet Mashiro-chan is just too much! The way the lines connect so beautifully from the hot spring and tea ceremony scenes to the sleeping-together scene — from "The moon is beautiful, isn't it" to "I wouldn't mind dying" (though the actual lines aren't exactly that, they're close) — really highlighted the depth of her love even more, and I thought that was wonderful! I highly recommend this, so if you're on the fence about buying it, you definitely won't regret it. And even if you think "nah, not interested," I don't think you'd lose anything by buying it either!!
You'll spend a healing time with the rabbit goddess "Mashiro," voiced by Marika Takano. This time, you spend a moment with the rabbit goddess "Mashiro." My first impression was that she had a pure, cool-type vibe, but as I kept listening, I started to feel a bit of an airheaded, clingy side to her, which I thought worked really well from the perspective of being healed by her. This is partly my personal taste, but a situation where a cool girl gets really clingy really tugs at my heart, so I liked it. Just when I was thinking she was such a pure, cool healing type, she suddenly starts saying "pyon-pyon," and her cuteness goes full blast — the gap in atmosphere was great. I want to keep enjoying listening and looking forward to what kind of time we'll spend together. Below are some thoughts on the content (partial) In "Welcome to Yaoyoro Hot Spring Village – We Welcome You, Dear Guest," at the end of her explanation, when she speaks in a whisper near your ear, I thought it was amazing how the atmosphere suddenly became so heart-fluttering even though her vocal tone didn't actually change. In "Ear Cleaning in the Moon-Viewing Rabbit Room (Right Ear)," when I hear "ear cleaning," I usually imagine the bonten puff being used at the very end, but here, personally, it was refreshing that she starts with the bonten. In "Ear Cleaning and Service Ear-Blowing (Left Ear)," the atmosphere already felt pleasant even before anything happened, and then she carefully cleans your ears — it was just pure healing and relaxation, letting me empty my mind completely while listening. In "The Path to the Open-Air Bath, Tsukioka Coast," as I listened leisurely to the conversation, the listener naturally and directly says Mashiro is cute, and since the feelings are mutual, it was lovely. I can't fit everything here, so the rest will be in the main review. (⇒I plan to post a full, in-depth review on my DL Channel.)
Mashiro-chan. ――― The moon is beautiful, isn't it. So, as in the work itself, I've written my honest feelings right at the start, after finishing listening, and this is my review. If this line caught your attention, I don't think you'll regret buying this ☆ It truly is a sweet, gentle story that you hear with your ears and feel with your heart. Even though you're just listening, you feel as if you're actually "there"... that's one of the defining traits of ASMR, but I think this work translates that feeling into the story extremely well. As a work, I feel it places more emphasis on comfort through the voice rather than physical sound, but that doesn't mean the ambient sound is cut any corners — quite the opposite. Just as the review title says, this "sound besides the voice" is essential to becoming immersed in the world of the story, and overall I felt it was high quality as ASMR. If you're looking at it from the angle of helping you sleep, I can highly recommend it to anyone who seeks comfort in a human voice. Also, if you want to feel at ease, I think it's perfect as a story to listen to through sound. And to touch on the content without spoiling anything: I used to keep a rabbit myself, so I found myself thinking "ah, that could happen," or "oh, that did happen," and felt a sense of nostalgia. In that sense, I also think this is especially recommendable for people who love rabbits. By the way, there's absolutely nothing in it that could cause discomfort, so if you're worried about that sort of thing, there's no need to be. In summary, I think this work is especially recommended for: ・People tired from everyday life in modern society ・People who want to go on a peaceful trip ・People who want to immerse themselves in a fantastical world ・People who want to fall asleep peacefully through the comfort of a voice And also, it's recommended for people who love rabbits. After you listen, I'm sure— ――― The moon will look beautiful to you too.
I was so excited for this ever since preorders opened. Marinka is one of my favorite voice actresses, so I bought it immediately. The breathing during the ear cleaning is amazing! The occasional "pyon" she says is just too cute... There's also a short bonus track, and I'm very satisfied overall! My ears are so happy, and I'm grateful to Kokorozukushi Oto-ya for casting Marinka. If you're a fan of Marinka, you definitely won't regret buying this!
Basically she keeps serving you devotedly from the start, but as it goes on, she starts making various excuses and can't help but ask for the things she herself wants, which is incredibly cute. I bought it lured in by the cast, but if you like the voice actress, I'd definitely recommend buying it. I usually only listen to ear-cleaning ASMR, but this work made me think that this kind of thing is good too.
Marika Takano's voice was like a pure white rabbit's tail — beautiful, fluffy, cute, and gentle — and she played the role of the rabbit goddess Mashiro wonderfully. Being called "anata-sama" was a first for me, and I found that I liked it too. Since I like mythology, the world-building of this work really suited my taste. I enjoyed listening to the little trivia about rabbits and the moon. There's so much soothing voice and sound that it's extremely comfortable, and especially in Track 7, the sleeping-together scene, spoiled Mashiro is so adorable — I felt completely filled with happiness, experiencing a supreme kind of healing as if my heart was being purified. The bonus track was also adorable and made me smile. It's "pyon." "Pyon" is the best. The way she occasionally adds "pyon" after her lines is so cute, and every time she said it, my facial muscles went slack, and by the time I finished listening, I was completely addicted to "pyon-pyon." Thank you so much.
I wonder if this means a rabbit was reincarnated as Mashiro-san. You get to keep enjoying this audio with Mashiro-san, who's dressed in a clingy bunny girl costume that makes you wonder "where exactly is the 'cool' part?" She dotes on you and spoils you in polite language, so I could listen to it forever. Since you even get to marry Mashiro-san and enjoy a newlywed life together, I just want this to go on forever, loving each other until the very end.
It was such a comfortable work that I ended up dozing off multiple times before even reaching the final track. The charm of this work lies in the soft, gentle voice of the rabbit goddess Mashiro (CV: Marika Takano), which is incredibly soothing to the heart. Combined with this voice, relaxing ambient sounds like waves and water also play a part, and before I knew it, I'd fallen asleep many times. In the ear-cleaning tracks, you can hear the gentle sound of ear cleaning along with her quiet breathing, giving you a truly relaxed atmosphere. This work is perfect for helping you fall asleep or when you want to relax, so I recommend it to anyone looking for some healing.
I think this is a wonderful work that makes you forget your tiring daily life. Above all, the voice and ambient sounds are so pleasant to listen to that if you close your eyes while listening, you often find you've fallen asleep before you realize it. The exchanges with Mashiro-chan are so cute that I can't help but grin, and the part where she's hopping around is just downright adorable. For anyone who loves ASMR, this has become a top-recommendation work that I'd definitely want everyone to listen to at least once.
I purchased the whole Yaoyoro Hot Spring Village series all at once. This was actually my first time buying a work featuring Marika Takano, and I was surprised to find there's a voice actress who can produce such a gentle, sweet voice! Just like in the other works in the series, the part where you soak in the hot spring together is the epitome of healing, and I've replayed it many times already. This is a work that makes me wish for more installments featuring the same character to come out!
