Great for listeners who want a tender, melancholic healing experience wrapped in rain, fireplace warmth, and gentle singing.
Lost in a rainswept forest, you stumble upon Elena, a shy girl known as the 'White Reaper,' who lives alone deep among the trees and quietly sings to herself. As the rain falls, the two of you slowly grow closer, sharing a brief warmth by the fire until the rain stops and your time together must end. A bittersweet, healing story about a girl learning her own worth.
In a rain-soaked forest lives a lonely girl called the "White Grim Reaper," Elena. "You," having wandered into a forest that draws in those burdened with worries, pain, and sorrow, are lured by a singing voice and come to meet Elena. "Do you... not remember why you're in this forest?" "You don't even know if you're lost or not... how could that be..." "Were you drawn here by the singing... by my song...?" Having always been alone, Elena is terribly bad at conversation. She speaks haltingly, gets frightened by the smallest things, and cries easily. Just like "you," Elena doesn't remember why she's in this forest either. "By the time the rain clears, I'm sure your heart will feel clear too." "I'll do whatever I can, even just a little, so that your worries and pain might ease." "...You probably hate being in the home of something as filthy as me... I'm sorry..." Toward "you," who came to like her singing, Elena gradually begins to open her heart. Eating fruit together, taking walks through the forest, singing along to the sound of the rain... But someday, the rain will stop. Once the rain stops, you'll be able to return from the forest. "In the end, you never remembered why you came to this forest." "But that's all right. You don't need to remember." "Please, forget about me. Forget everything, everything that happened in this forest." The 7th work from circle Re:sound, themed around "a girl who lacks confidence in herself." The most bittersweet, most heartwarming story of rain and song. "Once the rain stops. I... surely..." "...How strange. I should have wished for this all along." "But right now, I feel a little... reluctant."

Just as Re:sound's concept promises, you get to enjoy a story woven together with a girl who lacks confidence in herself. Re:sound's works are always high quality, but personally, this one stands out as especially recommendable among them. If you like works where you dote on and pamper the character, I think this is a good buy.
While the overall atmosphere is serious, this work does a great job of bringing out the girl's charm. In the first half, you start to see what becomes the central theme of the work. The fairy tale that Elena sings for you is very soothing. In the middle section, we learn that the current Elena is shaped by the events that happened before she met the listener. It's a scene that conveys a real sense of weight well. In the latter half, it depicts how Elena's feelings change through her encounter with the listener. Even though the work is only about 90 minutes long, I felt the content was far denser than that. My emotions were shaken quite a bit. At times my heart grew warm, at times I felt sad, and in the end it left me with a lingering feeling of loneliness. Elena's final line does an excellent job of conveying that lingering feeling — I thought it was very well done.
In a rain-soaked forest, drawn in by a singing voice, I met a girl with black-and-white hair and red eyes. I ended up visiting the girl's mansion. This girl who loved to sing was shunned by others for being different. Even so, you find yourself drawn to her song. Toward you, who shows her affection, the girl, who had always taken being alone for granted, gradually opens her heart. The timid, hesitant way this girl who lacks confidence in herself behaves, her awkwardness at not being used to being treated kindly, and the moments where she honestly shows how happy she feels — each of these has its own warmth, its own charm that draws you in. There's so much I want to write, so many thoughts I have, but it's frustrating that I can't quite put them into words. Various songs are included, and the way they match the atmosphere of the work so perfectly is wonderful, and the gap between Elena while she's singing and Elena right after she finishes singing hits with incredible force. I've never come across a work that makes you hope so hard for emotion and happiness that you can't help but cry. Me? I cried. ( Not normal? Shunned by others? Creepy? Other people's opinions and one's own self-evaluation are just that and nothing more — they have absolutely nothing to do with the feelings she herself holds for you. Even if Elena puts herself down, I find her precious and dear. I want to wish for Elena's happiness.
