Sugar for Your Bitter Heart

You can enjoy a pleasant time with a younger girl. Even though she's at an age you could call a girl, she seems mature, or perhaps composed—maybe because she's often alone, whether at home or outside. Even so, the age-appropriate cuteness and slight mischievousness that peek through here and there might be proof that she's opened her heart to "you." As you listen to her words and let yourself be drawn into the ear cleaning, your feelings will naturally take shape before you know it… The main story is about 30 minutes, but I think you can slip right into the world of just the two of you with her. It also makes good use of the common issue in audio works where "you" have few lines, using it in a way that really tugs at the heartstrings—that's a key point. Asami Yui's voice fits perfectly into the role of this composed (and slightly sadistic) younger girl, so I'd recommend this work even to those listening to Asami Yui's voice for the first time. As for the bonus track, I was struck by how rare it is for a heartbeat sound to be included at all. You get to spend a peaceful time so close to the girl who's opened her heart to you that you can hear her heartbeat. Among all the all-ages audio works I've listened to recently, this was personally by far the best, so I'd definitely recommend it.

This is about spending a sweet time with 'Alice,' played by Asami Yui, from "Add Sugar to the Bitter You." Point! 《For your reference》 ☆Event☆ Listening to it, I got the impression that her mature, composed atmosphere really came through. Also, according to the work's description, even when she goes home her parents are working overseas, so she's always alone. Because of how she looks, she's targeted by everyone and not accepted, and it's written that she's become completely cold and frozen—so I thought, "maybe she won't be easy to win over here either." But as time passes after meeting you, even that cold, frozen her completely opens up her heart, and I was like, "Wow, she's actually this good at talking (in a good way)!?" (lol) She herself says she's quiet, reticent, and unsociable, but maybe the truth is the complete opposite♪ Of course, that's also because you changed her. The nicely-timed coffee moments that pop up here and there bring out a wonderfully good balance—that was a great point (lol). I found myself thinking, "I wonder if this bitter coffee will eventually turn sweet…" Also, I was able to relax listening to the part where she lovingly pokes around during the ear cleaning and the comforting heartbeat sounds. And at the end, I got made sweet by her sweet sugar and my heart was racing so much I thought I'd break out in a weird sweat (lol). I was so thoroughly healed! Thank you!! Please go find other things too♪

With Asami's wonderful voice and Acqua Alta's wonderful script, it's literally a very sweet story, but it's really good. I love it. I especially love the frustratingly tantalizing feeling during the ear cleaning part. Also, since it's not that loud, as I wrote earlier, I can sleep soundly even when I listen to it before bed. Acqua Alta's works are really all great.

A younger girl, and on top of that, a student-and-teacher setup! And it's Asami Yui, so it's just too cute! I want Alice-chan to clean my ears forever! I want to listen to Alice-chan's sleeping breath forever! For working adults exhausted from work... this is definitely recommended!

By the time the story takes place, they're already close, and a year has passed since they met. Aside from the fact that they're teacher and student, things are left very vague, with the details left up to the listener's imagination. Even though she's called a girl, she's very mature (perhaps it's reasonable to think she's around high-school age?), and I found myself imagining that maybe it's her foreign blood that makes her speak quietly yet act boldly... Since there's a time gap between the "you" in the story and myself, at first I hesitated, thinking "is this really okay?" But after listening a few times, I felt myself settling into the world of the work, and it became a very comfortable, pleasant piece.

I bought this drawn in by Asami Yui's performance. The sense of distance from the ear was wonderful, and the part where she whispers right next to your ear gave me goosebumps. In the scene where you can hear her heartbeat, I was impressed by how the situation was conveyed through the changes in the sound. Recommended.

I had told Alice-chan, who's disliked at school, that I had something to talk to her about, but when the time came, she seemed sleepy. The light exchange between the somewhat twisted Alice-chan and the protagonist (a teacher) is healing. "You seem bitter too. I prefer something sweeter, you know." The way that line made my heart skip a beat is all thanks to the voice actress's skill. Giving her a ring while she lets you rest on her lap isn't exactly cool, and I wondered if that was okay, but since Alice-chan was happy about it, I forgave everything. It was even better that she said something like "you could've at least given it to me properly." Alice-chan peering into my face is so cute. I just want her to be happy forever.

I think this will be irresistible for anyone who likes the voice actress's voice throughout. The occasional moist whispers she gives were just too much for me. It's a stable work that lets you listen peacefully and calmly from start to finish while still having elements that make your heart skip a beat. The situations are well crafted, and you grow attached to the character. The fleeting charm of this slightly precocious yet devoted girl is the best.

The voice actress's voice is wonderful. The ambient sounds and sound effects are also very good, and the story is solid, making it an easy work to listen to. The sound of coffee being brewed and the ear cleaning sounds are both very nice, and heartbeat sounds are included as well. It's a very healing work, so I can recommend it.

……………………Calming. ………And somehow my heart races a little too. I bought this because I like Asami Yui as the voice actress, but the atmosphere is wonderful. Being talked to little by little while resting on her lap, getting your ears cleaned, the sound of coffee being brewed, the clinking of cups or dishes… It's great to fall asleep while listening. It's also great to immerse yourself in the situation and listen all the way through (personally, I mostly fall asleep partway through). There's also a version with ear cleaning sounds and no talking, so I'd recommend that one for when you're going to sleep at night.
