For listeners drawn to relationships that blend eerie and tender intimacy, and who enjoy close, whispered ASMR that lingers between fear and affection.
As an aspiring manga artist, you move into a cheap, run-down apartment—only to find it's haunted by a playful female ghost, Yako Kusunoki, who takes a sudden interest in you. She teases you while slowly closing the distance between you, and whispered binaural ASMR captures the eerie yet intimate nights that follow. Their strange cohabitation deepens into something bittersweet as you begin drawing her.

But no matter how long you waited, the ghost never disappeared. If anything, the ghost seemed to have taken an interest in you. "You can see me, can't you?" I was able to enjoy a truly happy little while. The script was wonderful, and Yui Asami's voice matched the character so perfectly that I was completely absorbed in the work until the very end. Yoruko looks so happy while she's working on her manga, and I just love that about her. I'm so glad the ending wasn't a farewell. From here on this is more personal, but Yoruko and I are the same age, and I'm currently chasing a dream of my own, so when she talks about being strangled, I can't quite put it into words, but so many emotions welled up in me, and it made me love this work even more. I want to be cheered on by a ghost like this.
I love Caramel Column's works, and when I heard they were releasing an audio drama, I bought it right away. While keeping the standard ASMR elements, Yoruko the earthbound spirit has an approachable character image, and the meticulous way it delves even deeper into her inner self really drew me in. By the time I finished listening, I felt a sense of satisfaction like I'd just finished reading a novel. One of the strengths unique to this work is the literal "breath-catching" development, which was really good. If there's a sequel, I'd really appreciate more of these dark depictions. When listening straight through, the next track's audio starts right away, so for the scene change from 2 to 3, it might be better to leave a bit of a pause to really immerse yourself. Lastly, I'd especially recommend this to those who like ghost stories, who want to be haunted, who want to be whispered to. Yui Asami's faint yet present voice is so soothing.
This is a slightly erotic, scary, and bittersweet story about Yoruko, an aspiring novelist and earthbound spirit visible only to me. The way the title got tied together at the end was thrilling. The story, the illustrations, and the voice actress's performance were all great. Looking forward to Caramel Column's next work. I'd also love to see a spin-off game adaptation or something. I'd love for their past works to get audio dramas too. Like S from Alter Ego, for example. I'd also love to hear something more adult-oriented.
