I got interested after seeing the info that this was "Ohyama Chiruru's singing," and bought the 1st and 2nd volumes at the same time, but I think I would have liked it even without knowing beforehand that it was "a favorite voice actress singing." At first listen it's a beautiful album made up of clear, transparent vocals and lovely melodies, but if you listen carefully, it's not just pretty — it's a work that also carries a "faint madness" evoking death and ruin. Because there's a spoken-word piece like "Star and Stuffed Animal," you can also feel a kind of narrative, concept-album quality to it. This track is deliberately arranged so that part of the narration becomes unintelligible under layered, noise-tinged instrumental sounds, making for an elaborate piece that leaves you with the mystery of "it seems to be expressing a deep loneliness, but you can't quite grasp the true nature of that loneliness." (This is just my own interpretation, though.) If you listen to the sample crossfade and find yourself drawn in thinking "this is beautiful," it's worth buying.
