Drawing pictures with Mii-chan, she's healed, thinking kids might not be so bad after all; then she drives off Ken-kun and makes him cry, thinking kids really are a pain after all. On the veranda, blowing soap bubbles and singing, she savors memories of her mother, and somehow ends up making up with Ken-kun, and everyone decides to make mud dumplings together. Desperately carrying buckets for everyone in order to make mud dumplings, Ren works hard. Shy but singing a children's song for the two kids. The two children, holding instruments they somehow have, cheer and sing along. Even as her pace gets thrown off, she receives instruction from the mud-dumpling master (Ken-kun), studying the 'feelings of sand' as she works on making mud dumplings. Ren, no longer wanting to do anything, starts a mysterious game called 'zoning out,' and Mii-chan and Ken-kun ask her to read them a picture book. (The original picture book 'Pyokon the Rabbit') With the two of them falling asleep in front of her, she and the teacher quietly hold the going-home meeting. Ren reflects on the day and leaves behind a 'crayon letter' before heading home. Was Ren able to properly connect with 'children' after all?
