Journey with the Kraken Sorceress ~Ear-Cleaning ASMR~

I've been waiting soooo long, with my ears perked up, for this new release. And this time, tentacles get shoved right into those ears. Yes, tentacles. When you hear "tentacles," it tends to sound like something a bit shady, but this is Iyashi no Mori no Ie we're talking about—these are healing tentacles you can safely fall asleep to. As always, the sound design is wonderful, and including the repeat-loop track, it's just the right comfort level for drifting off to sleep. Please listen lying down in bed or somewhere similar. On top of that, this work's scenario is must-listen all the way to the end. You might feel drowsy along the way from how comfortable it all is, but I really want you to make it to the very last track! The story is that good—it's precious! And Korisu-san... I didn't know you could act like this... This work made me feel keenly that audio dramas aren't just about ASMR or voices! Honestly, I'm moved. The meticulously crafted ASMR, the ambient sounds that heighten immersion, and the scenario—I think this is truly a wonderful work as an audio drama!!

Oh, a new tentacle-type ear cleaning has arrived! I wondered, is it an octopus? A slime? What could it be—and it turned out to be a kraken, of all things. Korisu-san's voice combined with this high-quality tentacle ASMR really hit the spot for me, something I haven't experienced in a while. Thanks to this, I can only sleep at night now (laughs). There's quite a variety, and it's nicely divided into small tracks, which I appreciate. I followed instantly. Looking forward to more from now on~!

It was quite unexpected that the heroine, Caramel-san, is neither human nor an anthropomorphized animal like in past works, but rather a kraken girl who's a sorceress. However, there was nothing scary about it—in this fantasy world, she's depicted simply as "just that kind of race" living alongside humans, so I could enjoy it with peace of mind. Her first-person pronoun is "onee-san" (big sister), and the setting has her on a journey with the younger protagonist (the hero) to find an elixir. Along the journey, she's a sweet character who massages the protagonist's ears, but the cute part is that when she gets all lovey-dovey over the protagonist she adores, she sometimes reverts to her true kraken form—it felt endearingly clumsy. This might be something you can only say because it's an audio work, but the fact that you "can't see" her squid form is an advantage unique to audio dramas. You never see her fully transformed monster form, and instead you get to enjoy a slightly unusual play of tentacle massage ASMR through sound alone. Besides the tentacle ear massage (a sound like finger-scratching), there's also ear cleaning and finger-scratching sounds using bamboo picks and cotton swabs, plus shampoo sounds, heartbeat sounds, and hand-based ear massages—there's plenty of pleasant sound to enjoy as an ASMR audio work. But unlike an ASMR live stream, you also get to enjoy the story, so this is undeniably crafted as an audio drama. When a work leans too heavily into ASMR, it can be so comfortable that you get sleepy while listening, but this work has a strong story element too, so if you listen while paying attention to the dialogue, you can avoid getting too drowsy. If you just let yourself relax into the comfort of the sounds, you could fall asleep right away, but if you consciously listen to the dialogue to enjoy the story, you won't get sleepy—I thought it was a work with a really nice balance. I also personally love that the main story alone runs a hefty 4 hours and 50 minutes. A kraken!? was my first reaction, but in the end, it was a very Korisu-chan-like audio work♪
