Good points ・The chewing sound chapter is truly wonderful. You can clearly hear the sounds inside the mouth while chewing, and the sound of breath escaping through the nose. ・You can also hear the sound of swallowing a drink. It's moving to be able to hear the sound of Sumipe's throat. Things I'd like to see next time ・I want to hear even more of Sumipe's chewing and swallowing sounds at zero distance. ・I love the sound of Sumipe's breath escaping through her nose, so I'd like to hear a lot more of it. ・For the sleeping-together part, I want to hear a lot more of the zero-distance nose breathing.
The second installment of Hatsukoi Note came right on the heels of the first. I was excited wondering what kind of situation it would be this time, and it turned out to be a childhood friend. I'm glad they went with this classic relationship dynamic. The gradually closing distance with a classmate in the previous work was good, but the exquisite closeness unique to childhood friends really hits differently right from the start. Also, Yuri-chan, the heroine of this work, has a slightly unusual, or shall we say ASMR-friendly, set of tastes and preferences, which is another tickling point. The slime part made my ears very happy, so please do listen to it. It's literally a must-listen. Another memorable part was the sewing machine segment. I never get the chance to touch a sewing machine, but I never imagined I'd get to hear this sound — one many people probably recognize from somewhere — this up close. It was a new discovery. And this work also includes an ear-cleaning part. Ear cleaning on someone's lap is wonderful no matter how many times I hear it. Ear cleaning truly is justice.

Of course, the protagonist isn't the kind of petty man who'd get angry about his younger childhood friend talking to him casually, but to those around them, it might look like he's an upperclassman being addressed impudently and familiarly by a junior girl. Out of consideration for his reputation, the girl who acts as a proper, polite underclassman at school is endearing and delightfully old-fashioned in her devotion. But once they leave school and settle into each other's homes, the distance changes into that of equal friends chatting freely and excitedly about games and manga — an extremely youthful romantic comedy feel. Also, in Track 07, I could really feel the heart-pounding sense of changing clothes at extremely close range, separated only by a single curtain. The old man living in the storehouse of my heart kept shouting "Hold her!! Hold her!!" — so noisy, honestly. The breathing during the ear-cleaning part in particular is a must-listen.
