Oshigoto Neiro: Bath Goods Shop Clerk Edition ~Shampoo, Bubble Bath & Ear Cleaning~ (Voiced by Yoshino Nanjo)

This time marks Oshigoto Neiro's first new release in a while. This work focuses on bath goods, which felt like something that should have existed already but somehow hadn't been done before. Bathing itself has been featured in a few past works, but I was genuinely impressed that this one puts the spotlight on the tools related to bathing. It includes many "sounds you feel like you've heard before but actually haven't," letting me thoroughly savor the pleasantness of sounds I normally just tune out. The sound of scraping soap in particular is nothing short of masterful. I remember scraping soap with my nails as a kid and finding it satisfying, but I never imagined that sound could feel this pleasurable. It's a wonderful work that made me reconsider the possibilities of ASMR all over again. And of course, it ends with the reliable ear cleaning segment. Ear cleaning is justice.

Since this is set as the "bath goods shop clerk" edition, there are a lot of carbonated-type sounds like shampoo and bath bombs, which made it a great work for someone like me who loves carbonation! There's also an ear oil massage, and thanks to the high sound quality it comes through beautifully clear! The shampoo sounds have this fizzy, bubbly quality to them, and I could really tell they put care into the sound design. The concept is that you're a new employee at a bath goods shop being taught by a senior coworker, and her energy level is quite high, which made the back-and-forth fun to listen to! Nanjou-san's voice suited the character really well!

This work has you spending time with a bath goods shop clerk, so overall there's a lot of bath-related content like shampoo and bubble baths. There are also long stretches of drowsy, comfortable time, so you can relax fully, making it usable as a sleep aid too. Personally, I'd recommend tracks 4 and 6. In track 4, you get your hair shampooed. It feels just like getting shampooed at a hair salon—extremely soothing and very sleep-inducing. In track 6, you end up taking a bath, and this was also excellent. It properly includes the "splish, splash" sounds you hear while soaking in the tub, which was an irresistible experience for someone like me who loves liquid-related sounds. Also, the situation of having such a cute senior coworker right next to you, even with just a curtain separating you, was really nice too. You can spend time in that same unhurried way you would while soaking in a bath, so if you're looking to feel healed, this is definitely one to check out!
