The Princess Knight I Wrote About in Middle School Reincarnates as My Classmate to Protect Me

This work is exactly as the title says. There are longer, more time-elapsed descriptions than usual, so compared to this circle's usual short works, it has a real "epic" feel to it, but that also means more jokes—or rather, more laughs—and all sorts of pain along with it...! I feel like it's pretty rare for a story involving a character you made back in middle school to actually reach a proper conclusion. It's common to just cram in a bunch of settings and never finish. I think quite a few people, upon looking back after growing up a bit, have felt their chest, stomach, and head all ache from secondhand embarrassment over their own chuunibyou phase, thinking things like "wait, this is way too overpowered" or "no human body could have this kind of balance!" I'm one of them too. It's rough. There are some people who actually finish writing their stories, but as I recall, those were the ones who dreamed of becoming novelists and could actually structure a proper narrative arc. So what if a character from that kind of "dark history" notebook you made long ago suddenly appeared before you one day as a classmate...? What if she started saying she'd protect her "master"...? The onslaught of dramatic epithets and sudden Lord of the R... (you know) -esque developments had me bursting out laughing at the contradictions being pointed out in the character's own setting, but gradually the pain started to outweigh the humor... Though there were still tsukkomi moments like "wait, who the heck is Sir Vincent!?" I started feeling a genuine sense of "I'm sorry I never let you finish your story back then..." But as the story progresses, it seems like it's steadily encroaching on everyday life... The way the overblown abilities I carelessly gave her, combined with modern technology, end up changing the surrounding environment—it started to feel like I was being taken revenge on by a character I myself created. Weren't you supposed to protect me? Is the author unable to do anything, in more ways than one...!? But she does say things that lighten your heart a little, too. "So this is the real phenomenon of a character leaving the author's hands and moving on their own, huh..." I thought vaguely. (No it isn't.)

A relatively short audio work at around 17 minutes. The voice actress is Himeki. Just as the title suggests, a princess knight written in a notebook back in middle school is reincarnated as a classmate and tries to protect the protagonist. Whether she's actually protecting him or not isn't really clear, but the heroine's lines—clearly living in her own world—are the heart of this work. The heroine believes she's serving the protagonist (= the listener) out of good will, but it's not necessarily well-received by him, and that gap was fun to listen to. My personal favorite part is the beginning of the after-school segment (the second track). The part where she's oblivious to the fact that the protagonist is avoiding her made me laugh. If there's a sequel, I'm curious whether the protagonist will keep thinking poorly of her, or whether their relationship will improve.
